  The advantage of permanent magnet motor is simple structure, mini volume and higher efficiency, so it is used as a propel motor in electric under-water vehicle. In this paper, a study on steady temperature field of a DC permanent magnet motor used in under-water vehicle is presented, and, the effect of the motor efficiency caused by the increase of rubber magnetic sheet temperature is analyzed.First, the heat resource and the limit of the increase of temperature are presented based on normal theory of motor’s temperature increase. Then, the boundary condition of motor’s heat transfer is analyzed, on the theory about heat transfer. And, the motor’s temperature field is calculated by a finite element software, ANSYS, the temperature of motor’s parts is confirmed.
