  In the latest years, with the appearance of some control methods such as vector control and direct torque control, the dynamic and static performance of motion control system have got great improvements. Because complicated real-time computing is needed for those new control theories including fuzzy control, neural networks control, sliding mode variable structure control, adaptive control and expert control, the microprocessor with higher performance is necessary for the system realization. TMS320F2812 is the most advanced DSP chip applying to motion control which is recently produced by TI. TMS320F2812 is compatible with the F24x/240 series DSP chips. In Neodymium Magnets addition, the computing speed is more quickly, the memory capacity of data and program is bigger, the integration degree is higher and the A/D transition is more accurate and rapid.The system characteristic of vector control and direct torque control is analyzed, and the dynamic and static performance is researched in this paper. Then the AC stepping drive theory is deeply analyzed and studied on these bases. The AC stepping drive is a new research branch which is formed with the development of motion control.   A new-type motion control system is researched and designed in the paper. The controller applies TMS320F2812 which is a powerful 32-bit fixed point DSP chip as its control core, and can apply AC stepping control theory. First introduces the hardware design and construction of the system. Then illuminates the software realization of the step-motion control, C language is used for designing the software. Experimental results are presented, and it is confirmed that the new control system based on TMS320F2812 is able to achieve complex arithmetic, has nice control performance.
